The next Air Force assignment took Mike to the United States Air Force Academy as an instructor of management. He also taught basic flying skills to the cadets in the T-3. After two years at the Academy, Mike returned to the C-141 at McGuire AFB, New Jersey. He also held staff positions there at the headquarters of 21st Air Force. Mike was then sponsored by the Air Force to complete doctoral work at the University of Oxford in England. He was then assigned as an Assistant Professor of Management at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. In 2007, he retired from the Air Force after almost 21 years of service. He is now an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Tampa. Mike earned Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and MBA degrees from Auburn University as well as Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Oxford. He has served for over 19 years in the Air Force and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Mike is also a Command Pilot with over 3700 flight hours and holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. Mike's research interests include information technology outsourcing, innovation, and knowledge management. |
